Volunteering

Interested in becoming a volunteer?

The Saltaire Collection is run by dedicated and highly valued volunteers. Our work has grown through the skill and commitment of people willing to give their time.

There is a wide range of opportunities including caring for items, cataloguing and digitising items, supporting the website and social media, developing learning resources, hosting visitors and helping out at events and exhibitions. Are you interested?

Volunteering opportunities include

Assisting with listing, rehousing, cataloguing and digitising items, and related activities involved in caring for the Collection such as environmental monitoring.

Assisting with outreach activities including our occasional public exhibitions in Saltaire.

Helping with our communications, including: Facebook, Instagram and X/Twitter, our electronic newsletter, and our website and online catalogue.

Assisting in the development of resources, based on items in the Collection, for children and young people attending school, post-16 education or university. Helping to identify areas for new research.

The Saltaire Collection is the public face of the Saltaire World Heritage Education Association (SWHEA), a registered charity.

If you are interested in becoming a Trustee or associate member of the Board of SWHEA, please visit our Trustees page.
